You are both the sculptor and the sculpture
In each Ásana, I feel that I am both the sculptor and the sculpture itself. I guide and allow myself to be guided, trusting in my own guidance and abilities. It is a harmony between the physical, energetic, emotional and mental bodies that is gradually and patiently built.
Each Ásana has an exact mould to be filled so that all its benefits can be fully experienced. Thus, in the Ásana, as in everything in Yoga, we must give our utmost attention to every detail, because everything will influence the final result. Nothing should be left to chance.
There should be harmony not only in stillness, but also in movement, because it is through movement that we carry this harmony into the next Ásana. Therefore, stillness and movement are not two separate things: they are a continuum.
Our lives are also a continuum. Everything matters: what we do, what we do not do, stillness, movement, action and inaction. What is said, felt and thought. So, let us give our very best in every moment, so that our journey through life remains in harmony with the grand purpose we seek.
Let us be, today and always, builders of harmony, within ourselves and around us.
Stop, observe and guide. You are, simultaneously, the sculptor and the sculpture itself, in a work that is being created with every passing moment.
