Stop, to listen

It is important to turn our attention inward. Introspection allows us to become aware of our thoughts, our emotions and everything that happens within us.

No one can listen to us in the way we can listen to ourselves. It is a relationship that is built from the inside out and requires us to be willing to observe and know ourselves.

To listen, we need to stop and become still. Only then is it possible to create a relationship of deep understanding and connection with ourselves.

In Yoga, we value stillness and staying in the position. In stillness, we create space for introspection, for constant self-study — Svádhyáya — which allows us to know ourselves and continue to evolve.

Turning inward does not mean closing ourselves off from the world. On the contrary, it can be a way of deepening our understanding of what is best within us and allowing that dimension to express itself more and more in our lives.

It is in this inner silence that we can find something as wonderful and sublime as Nature itself, of which we are a part.
